Maldivian Hotel Owners and related Maldivian governmental entity:

Advise on the acquisition of 3 distressed Maldivian Hotels by international private equity investors, including structuring the bankruptcy remote acquisition entity, extension of the hotel leases by the Maldivian government, restructuring loans and acquisition finance and acquisition of the hotels.

Maldivian Hotel Owner:

Advised on the joint venture arrangements, development and leasing documents in respect of a “floating” development to be constructed in the Maldives.

Hotel Owner based in EMEA:

Advising an EMEA based hotel owner / investor on the financing and development of an internationally operated luxury hotel and resort in the Maldives.

Global Hotel Operator:

Advise on Section 39(D) of the Regulation on the Grant of Rights related to Tourist Resorts and ancillary Maldivian regulatory compliance in connection with Management Agreement negotiations and project restructuring for Amingiri property.

Global Hotel Operator:

Advised on high level local law assessment of the template (i) Notice of Termination, and (ii) Confirmation of Termination (collectively, "Termination Documents"), to confirm whether completing and issuing the Termination Documents will be effective in terminating the MAs/BAMAs in Myanmar, Thailand, Vietnam, Sri Lanka, Malaysia and Maldives.
