Represented Singapore based client in connection with development of numerous hotel and branded residence projects in Asia and the Middle East. This includes conducting research of relevant laws in applicable jurisdictions, coordinating with legal counsel, performing due diligence for the potential projects, drafting relevant contracts and negotiation with the other parties in connection with execution of hotel management, licensing and branded residences. Created branded residences development templates for regional use, and advised on structuring projects in India, Dubai, Thailand, Korea and Indonesia. Represented client in connection with acquisition and development of hotels in Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam. Advised Singapore headquarters on franchising and other jurisdiction specific laws requiring modification to development templates and portfolio acquisitions in 4 countries. Instruction resulted from advice in connection with dispute with Owner in two countries that could have been avoided by more precise localized development templates and adherence to statutory disclosure and registration requirements.
